Worship at FCC – Sundays at 9 a.m.

At First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we offer three ways to participate in worship: in-person worship at 9 a.m., live-stream on Facebook, or listen live via Mixlr. A typical service runs about an hour long, during which we sing hymns, listen to the chancel choir an anthem or other special music, hear a sermon from one of our ministers, and partake in communion. Communion is central to our worship; all are welcome at the Table of Christ.

Children Worship & Wonder

We encourage children to be active participants in worship, but we also offer Worship & Wonder so they have the opportunity to interact with worship on their own developmental level. Worship & Wonder, a Montessori-influenced program, allows children to hear Bible stories and form responses from their own life experiences. They learn the meaning of church traditions and participate in hands-on worship practices through a story-telling teaching method. During the 9:00 a.m. service, children ages 3 through 2nd grade are invited forward for a prayer, then escorted to the Worship & Wonder room by the shepherd. Parents pick up their children from the Worship & Wonder room (located at the end of the first-floor education wing) at the conclusion of worship.

First Christian Café 10:00 a.m.

First Christian Café offers a wonderful opportunity for fellowship following the in-person worship service. All are welcome to gather in the Fellowship Hall for coffee, juice, and a light breakfast.

Sunday School 10:30 a.m.

Sunday school is offered for all ages. Parents can take their children to their classrooms on the first level of the education wing at 10:30 to be picked up by 11:30.  Adult classrooms are located on the second floor of the education wing.  For more information on adult classes, click here.  Sunday School for children has been temporarily suspended due to Covid-19. We will resume Sunday School for children in the Fall.
